What complications can occur?
Complications usually occur in middle ear infections. In developed countries these complications have been greatly reduced due to the use of antibiotics. The alarm is given by a worsening of the discomfort, increased ear pain that is severe, headache, vertigo, facial paralysis and deafness.
The main complications include mastoiditis and meningitis.

How does inflammation of the middle ear?

What is the middle ear?
The ear is the organ that allows us to perceive sounds. It consists of three parts:
- The outer ear consists of the tube that begins at the opening of the ear and ends at the eardrum.
- The inner ear consists of the snail (cochlea), which is the one with the ability to hear, and the labyrinth, which is responsible for the balance.
- Between the outer ear and inner ear is the middle ear.
