What effect does a stroke?
No two strokes equal, and each person is affected differently. It partly depends on the area of brain damage, as each party controls various functions such as speech, memory, swallowing or movement.
The stroke appear suddenly, being the most common signs of strength loss, paralysis or numbness of the arm and leg. It can also be difficult to speak or understand what the patient says.
It can affect swallowing and in this case, until they improve, you may have to feed the patient through a tube running from the nose to the stomach (nasogastric) or, if food is to the lungs, give fluids vein.Patients who have had severe stroke can lose consciousness and unfortunately the possibility of recovery in such cases is low.
How is stroke?
In the early days after stroke, the treatment is to ensure a good hydration and nutrition of the patient. The next phase of treatment-recovery through rehabilitation, is in charge of a team of health professionals including including physiotherapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, nurses and doctors. If the cause of stroke is a blood clot, half an aspirin a day makes the blood less sticky and less prone to clot. In any case, you should consult your doctor before taking any drug.
